==============================

The above is for my presentation tomorrow in Japanese class.... supposed to be on Japanese culture, and my group decided to do food, so I get to prepare a speech on takoyaki (",) not too sure if I got the kanji for the guy's name and the areas in Japan (Sennichi-mae district in Osaka and Kansai prefecture) correct...oh well, do correct me if it is wrong.... the english version is included below...

-------------------------

The takoyaki from Osaka, Japan is well-known. The tasty takoyaki is eaten during cold weather, causing the stomach to warm up, and the entire body would no longer feel cold. Thus, many people eat takoyaki during winter. Furthermore, it is also very convenient as quick snack.

This is a domestic takoyaki mould . Endo Tomekichi was the first person who made takoyaki. He initially filled the takoyaki balls with small pieces of meat and konnyaku but from 1935 he changed to using pieces of tako (octopus) meat. Nowadays, all kinds of fillings are used in takoyaki. The most common ones are cheese, shrimp / prawn, and octopus.

The Sennichi-mae district of Osaka has a lot of stores that sell cooking equipment / utensils. You can buy takoyaki making utensils from any one of these stores. In the region of Kansai prefecture, takoyaki is eaten together with cooked rice. Now, isn't that interesting? ^-^

updates...

woh...been almost 2 weeks since the last post...shall just do a few quick updates...

My ankle is ok now. Can walk aroung normally though ankle still swollen (esp at the end of the day) and a tad bit stiff. Have yet to try running.....finally bought the Michael W. Smith CD I want ^^ [2nd decade: 1993-2003] happy that I a new CD to listen to!

Singapore's Chuangyi would be publishing Kinoshita Sakura's "Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok" and "TACTICS" manga. Yay!! Hopefully they'll pick up "Spiral: Lines of Deduction" [Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna] too...sad that only DARAN (a Taiwan publisher) had it published, and DARAN has closed down...*sobz* Managed to catch AnimeYuki's sub of the 1st episode of the TACTICS anime...looks pretty promising. Looking forward to the ep 2 subs!
Other anime coming out are Stellvia 2, Full Metal Panic: 2nd Raid, xxxHOLIC, Howl's Moving Castle (STUDIO GHIBLI), Kino no Tabi movie, FF: Advent Children...can't wait....でも, exams round the corner...*sighz* prob catch 'em all in Dec...if they are out by then!
Planning on starting a manga translation/scanlation group...found a few people to form a group but serious work would prob start when my hols start...hopefully the trial ver. can be up...we shall see...okie...that's all for this update. Need to get back to me schoolwork...

Back to normal...more or less

After the seeing the tuina sinseh yesterday, feel so much better... can walk more normally too! The sinseh basically just re-alined my nerves and ligaments... massage treatment... sorta... shld be back in school tmr I guess.... the sinseh was pretty amazing... he cld tell how I fell just by looking at which bones/ligaments were outta place... even on my left ankle that I sprained quite a few years back!
Must remember to thank some people for helping me on Mon when I sprained me ankle... Jeanette, this girl I did not know who went to get ice and lent me her towel to wrap the ice in, my 2 friends, Wai and Jiafang who helped me hobble to the doc at the uni health and wellness centre ^_^ the docs and nurses at YIH, the sinseh from Kim Seng Tuina Centre in Jurong West (it didn't hurt!!!) plus my family who have been very understanding and accomodating
じゃまた ね! ^^

Confined to room...

Back at home now...still can't believe that I have MC til friday...guess it's really a great time for catching up on work, as well as spend some time w the Lord ^_^ however, the restricted movt is driving me nuts! can barely put weight on right foot anymore...especially when the painkiller starts to wear off...been hopping ard quite a bit (builds up the muscles in my left leg!) found a new way of climbing up the stairs at home...butt first! kinda climbing in a sitting position backwards....sure works out arm muscles....boy am i gonna be fit after this!

anyways, until now, I still haf no idea as to how I managed to hurt it so badly *sulkz* somehow i just missed A STEP and landed quite hard on my ankle...was like 2 steps away from the landing some more...wat's wrong w me?!? well, guess I'll get back to my work...might be seeing a Chinese tui na sinseh later...ah well....

*sighz*

aargh....sprained my ankle when i fell on it walking down the stairs at the old arts admin block...hurts like crazy...just got back from the doc at the health & wellness centre w a 5 days long mc...gonna miss so many lessons!!!!!!!!! aargh! so irritated...but ankle protesting and since i can't jolly well separate it from the rest of me, i guess i just have to live w it :(

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. ... The eye cannot say to the hand , "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be the weaker are indispensable, and the parts of the body that we think less honorable we treat with special honor.
[1 Corinthians 12:12, 21-23a]
seems like my present situation is the very literal meaning of the above passage...buess i'll be reflecting on all of this as i rest over the next few days....gotta go send emergency emails and get home...will elaborate when i am feeling a little better

ただいま。。。

Guess I'm not going for lecture after all...not immediately after wolfing down lunch where I'm sure to sleep *sigh* Won't be very free until after exams (and camps), meaning that this would be a very simple blog for me to share stuff... at least until the hols kick in (or if I'm really bored) and I get a proper chance to tinker ard w stuff..
Was watching Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" last nite (yes, I finally got down to watching it since I bought the VCD)... I was definitely unable to watch the entire thing all at one go. It's just so hard to watch how the Lord suffered as He went to the cross....all that was done...just to save my unworthy little hide...I did manage to finish watching it, and being a very visual person, those images are gonna stay with me for pretty long...
The next two months are gonna be pretty busy...not only with school work and projects but also with preparation for both church and Campus Crusade for Christ Metamorhposis camps...I know the Lord will see me through but that sure doesn't stop me from feeling tired and weary at times...*must complete the race* *must complete the race* *must complete the race* What to do? Life's not easy...
