NDP preview

Whoppee~ Back from NDP preview (with a real weird looking bag) ^^ the last one b4 the actual NDP... Was in the green section, so Adrian Pang and Vernatta Lopez were part of the pre-parade ra-ra crew for us... Boon happened to be in the yellow section just opp, and we were exchanging some SMSes ^^ Apparently Wesley and Zim were there too....

In between having my sis wave her flag (almost) into my face, I pretty much enjoyed myself ^^ There were cheesy moments like how Gurmit Singh *just* had to repeat that we're on TV and being satellite-telecasted to the heartlands when it was kinda obvious that the only pple at the heartlands were the poor motivators (aka cheerleaders) and the TCS hosts.... JE looked esp sad w just the yelow and blue pple there on a nice field with patches that were sorely lacking grass... When the motivators were teaching us the "dance steps" for this yr's theme song, it reminded me of the gd ol' sec sch days when we had weekly practices just to get our mass dances down pat...

Was kinda worried for the Red Lions were parachuting in, since it had been raining more or less the whole day, and the canvas covering the Padang looked real slippery. Good thing that nothing happened to anyone of them, and those cool stunts were executed nicely ^^ Plus I got really nice views since the wind kinda blew them more or less just above my section!!

The usual march-in of the armed forces plus uniformed groups etc. occurred, but some time during the National anthem, one of the officers bearing an armed forces color fainted..... Kinda a shock to see one of them just lying face down.... A stretcher was brought quickly and he was carried away, and another officer came to carry that unfortunate color... Do hope that that poor fella is OK now.... Good news was that the rest of the preview went on without any more noticeable "dramas".

One other thing that made this pretty memorable (other than the parade being back at the Padang after goodness knows how many years) is the whole bunch of tanks, amphibian tanks etc etc that were being paraded out for us one after another.... Kinda scary how the armed forces were basically [proudly] parading out [wat felt like] quite a bit of our arsenal.... We saw tanks, tansk, and more tanks, various aircrafts, some boats being towed.... Wat was missing were the larger naval vessels and submarines... For quite a few minutes, I felt like I was being transported into Sagara Sousuke's private fantasy!!! (minus all those Armed Slaves, of course!!) For those who dun understand wat I am talking abt, go watch the NDP after u haf watched Full Metal Panic or Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu or Full Metal Panic: the Secons Raid.... Boon's comments were "Wahlau. The only thing they didn't pull out was the parking ticket auntie lor" and that really just puts the whole thing in a nutshell....

Really love the fireworks!!! Wanna go and live in Japan so that I can just experience fireworks in Summer during their matsuris!!! So pretty!!! The less explosive ones w little swirly patterns were just so awesome ^^ Gonna dream of nice fireworks tonite ^^

p/s. the customs style scanning of bags did do sth good for me.... after I chucked the security check sticker (that was pasted on my bag) into one of the side pockets, I retrieved a pendant (that I am pretty sure I lost years ago) along w the sticker when I was clearing junk on the way home ^^

what wise quote fits you?

Going off for NDP preview this evening.... Hope the rain stops by then (it's been raining quite a bit since morning) Prob won't be taking any photos since I am just too lazy to lug a heavy camera (with spare batteries) over to the Padang... Well, b4 that, here's yet another quiz!!!

*************

Your wise quote is:
"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months" by Oscar Wilde. You are a very sarcastic person with a sharp tongue. You may not be the one always talking, but your mind is nevertheless critizing. You tend to have a cynical view on life itself and be somewhat withdrawn with who you really are. Society now is in your eyes corrupted and you wonder how the world will survive. And people are in your mind very ignorant and blind to the reality.

Don't u just love gatherings? ^^

Okie... so I was back in Singapore since Friday nite... Just been too lazy to post.... Plus, I dunno where to start on wrt Tioman.... Din get many photos this time, since I was snorkeling.... Plus my back just started peeling a little yesterday... Well, on to the main entry ^^

=============================

Just got home from my P3 (I kid u not!!!) gathering at Breko, Holland V ^^ It was great fun seeing the whole bunch of us again, in spite of the fact that less than half the class was down, but well, it HAS been like 12 years..... There was me, Tingting, Jessica, Seok, Kiat, Mark, Huson, Lester, Linus, Hannah, Joses, Lucas, Immanuel (did I leave anybody out? guess I'll check again when Kiat or someone else actually uploads the photos to the yahoogroups, and I get to put the photo up too... heehee...) Pity Ms Gaw cldn't make it. Do hope that her gum muscles get better soon. It really is pretty amazing how we can keep on having gatherings, considering that my sec and jc classes dun seem to org (or want to org) gatherings.... And not matter how much time we all have spent away from each other, there is always some kind of bonds that we still feel, and are still abt to happily chat w each other w/o any weird awkward silences ^^ (I really love this bunch of pple!!) The more we chat, the more childhood memories surfaced, and all the silly things we did as kids kept surfacing.... Ah, how times fly.... Now, amongst us, we have budding doctors, lawyers, scientists etc.... *nostalgic feelings*

Contact Lens woes....

Went to get contact lenses so I can use them for my fieldtrips and stuff, and for snorkelling in Tioman... Got them this morning, and since I have astig, my vision is a little double image-y at the moment :( It took a whole hour for the co-op optician to teach me, and for me to *somewat* get the hang of pushing the lenses against my eyeball... Doesn't help that today has been a nice rainy morning so far... Cold.... Just feels weird having lenses against my eyes....

Thot I wld spend the rest of the day re-doing the really messy coding for my blog, aka changing it so that I can use a mapping script instead.... But blogger is NOT cooperating at all.... my template changes just don't register no matter how many times I re-publish... and then it suddenly works again... oh well...

Recent events....

Well, after chatting w some of my frens over the past few days, I kinda realised that quite a number of them read my blog w/o commenting or tagging... Pls do help me w my changing of the layout, k? Really need help here.... Actually, I would really love to add a photoblog section but having a little trouble finding a gd place to host it.... And I really need to figure out how I wanna do the code for mapping, so that the sidebar can be shortened..... Aargh!!! Feedback pple, feedback!!!

++++++

Well, for the time being, I wld be putting up *some* of my photos here in here, along w the main entries, so until I get a functional place to host a photo album...

This one is the group shot that we took when the UNSW pple were brought on a mini-day tour of Singapore abt a week after they arrived. The photo's kinda big, and won't fit nicely in my blog dimensions, so u kinda need to click on it to see the full size ^^

Interesting shot I managed to get while inside the Chinese temple we visited on the same day.... The nicely restored "old-ern" architecture of the temple in the foreground, the modern buildings setting the skyline in the background, and not to forget the ever-present coke vending machine!!! Really shows how far the Coca-cola has penetrated into our daily lives, even amidst the juxtaposition of old and new..... Well, yea, this is another thumbnail, so u gotta click on it for a proper view....

Well, after visiting Little India, a couple of the girls got some henna designs on their hands (and feet). Penny here is being a nice model ^^ We actually had to walk ard a bit to get them done a a reasonable price since the spot that we visited was, well, mainly catering for tourists....

Jenny and her newfound ninja friends gotten from Chinatown.... Cute, aren't they? Kinda cool how she was amusing herself (and me at least) during the bus ride ^^ No complains from my side!

++++++

Now, on to more recent photos... like the ones taken tonight!! ^^ There were 2 events on... The first being an informal photo taking session amg the SPSians w those who just graduated (it IS commencement week, ya know!), not many of them turned up but well...

Liling was in this nice Chinese-Malay hybrid attire, that just symbolises how she is a Chinese Malaysian. Pretty interesting attire, plus u dun usually get to see her in a skirt! *gasp* The photo is kinda crap tho'.... I disabled the flash in a bid to conserve battery power but.... Can't believe I am actually putting up a photo that shows me!!! Firstly, I usually like being BEHIND a camera and not in front of it, and secondly, when I put up a photo, I tend to go for group shots... Oh well...

The graduating bunch, all nicely lined-up together, w Qifeng just popping his head out and Huang Ming sticking his head out ^^ (Nope, I sure didn't photoshop them in!!)

Group shot of the seniors... Sure gonna miss having them ard!! *sobz*

Yea, the crazy bunch of us who actually stayed back to take photos together (well, minus some others who were helping w the phototaking... Thanks guys!) There's Miaoqing having some fun w Shruti's cap (",)

Nicely posing ^^ Really getting into the mood, aren't we? Pity I didn't manage to get a full length shot of Hugesh.... he was gg ard barefooted in like berms (under the gown), and when he first put on the gown we all kinda went "Jedi master!!" He really did look like one! Honestly!!

Anyway, the other event was a cultural presentation by those taking Bahasa Indonesia, and it was pretty nifty seeing them all dressed up in the various Indonesian costumes! Some presentations on the culture, food etc., a song-dance item, and a mini-angklung perfomance... Plus nice, spicy Indonesian food for dinner ^^

The angklung players... Well, not the best of photos since there were extra heads but I wanted to post this since Adi happened to be in it (he's the cameraman), and he just got his hair cut at Clementi this afternoon ^^ Hope u dun mind, dude! And yea, if u want a better view, u can click on it....

And here's the Indonesian class w some of the VIPs from NUS and UNSW just to wrap up this entry ^^ Yet another nicely bordered, clickable thumbnail.... And yea, remember to comment/tag or sth to help me w my blog!

spanky new layout

Yes, lazy ol' Juan finally got round to changing my blog layout... (such a hassle!) Partly 'cos Kiat just did his, and he found a nice one that I cld use ^^ The major prob I am facing now is that my blog looks wonderful in IE but a tad bit weird in Firefox, and I do like Firefox a whole lot more than IE.... *bleah* kinda need to get my links up again and stuff.... think I prob need to incorporate some javascript in, so that my sidebar isn't too long... (hope that won't further mess up the layout *sobz*) Well, yea, this is kinda to let u know wat's happening, so dun pls dun mind if my blog looks weird for a while.... Do hope I get things sorted out before we go off to Tioman!!

Adventure w RAMUNE (ラムネ) =^-^=

Yes, King Liang, it takes me 3 days to actually get this entry up.... Well, after bringing the UNSW ppl back to PGP on Sunday, Yew Mun, King Liang, Mun Keat, and I headed down to Raffles City... KL wanted to introduce me to ラムネ (pronounced as "ra-mu-ne") a pretty unique Japanese soft drink. Lunch at Subway, then the 4 of us trooped down to Market Place at the basement of Raffles City.... When we got to the Japanese produce section, I was getting pretty excited, especially since ラムネ turned out to be a drink I saw on either anime or J-drama before ^^ There were other flavors like orange and peach and stuff but only 3 of them were in the "authentic" glass bottle.... So the adventure begins after putting the drink in the fridge upon getting home ^^

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Okie.... I ended up buying the original flavored ラムネ (pretty much tasteless to me... prob because loads of Singaporean soft drinks are very sweet). [1] shows the unopened bottle. Kinda looks like a normal soft drink in a glass bottle but looks can be deceiving, ya know! So upon closer inspection, there are interesting labels like in [2] and [3] as to how to open the bottle.... Basically there is a little plastic t-shaped thingie that you use to unseal the bottle by pushing the glass marble dn ^^

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

So ya, after removing the normal plastic seal thing at the top, the bottle ends up looking like [4], where the geen plastic bits at the top just sitting there, and come apart like in [5]. The smaller plastic bit on the left is the "t-shaped" thingie used to push the glass ball down...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Now comes the troublesome part..... the proper unsealing, so that I can get to my drink.... [6] shows how u shld place the plasatic bit, and u gotta use A LOT of strength to get the darn ball down!! I tried, didn't work.... Mom tried, didn't work... Went to get a flat pebble we had, I held on to the bottle, and Mom went "wham" on the pebble, and the glass ball *finally* went dn.... You can sorta see it fizzle-ling in [7]

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Just in case that wasn't large enough, here are some close-ups of the bubbles forming ard the ball... other than those little bubbles, there wasn't much excitement *lol* And yea, Juan (along w sibs and mom) proceeded to finish the 200mL of drink there was.... Not really a lot, but I only understood how THICK the walls of the bottle are after we finished the drink!!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Well.... here's the emptied product... The bottle is contoured in such a way that the glass ball doesn't fall all the way down but instead stays some where in the middle.... Well, now Juan has a nice noisy, albeit heavy, rattle on my table ^^ One good thing that came out of this is that now I have something ready for Japanese 4 culture presentation (photos and bottle alike!! heehee... might even get another bottle just before the presentation so I can demo how to open it ^^)

Trip to the airport....

Juan really needs to remember that it takes near to 2 hours to get to the airport from home.... Nice LOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG train ride *sigh* To start the story from the beginning, a group of us from SPS are helping out with a Science Summer School Programme thing NUS has w UNSW, so some of (the group of) us were at the airport to greet them... We were supposed to meet at 1730h since their flight was to arrive at 1745 but silly me was an hour late. Thankfully none of them were out yet ^^ Oh well... Managed to get all 27 of them safely, and on to PGP we go.... Wei Wen JUST had to whip out his deck of cards to play bridge while we were on the bus ^^ Oh, apparently they have a similar game called "500" (?) back Down Under... Unfortunately, the 2 we were playing with weren't exactly sure of the rules for it...

Next "adventure" at PGP was with the cluster gates that were situated at each level... Spent a good 15 minutes trying to figure out how to actually open them (especially since I don't stay in a hall) *rofl* And then back down to the air-con canteen for a quick meeting and briefing for tmr, as well as the collection of their [rather nice] welcome pack.... There was also a short comment abt the pink guavas that are eaten in Australia and the whitish, "pear-ish" ones we eat in Singapore. Well, the commercial guava drinks (like the ones from Pokka) we get in Singapore are made from the pink guavas, and they are sweeter compared to the practically tasteless white ones.... Pink and white are referring to the flesh inside... All guava skins are green....

Anyway, there wld be some of us bringing them to Clementi to get hp Sim cards, EZlink cards and wateva else they need... Prob til lunch time I guess, since a number of them DO have exams on Monday.... The poor things had to fly over in the middle of their exams, so they are doing papers in between some of the modules for the next week or so... And one of her has a pretty bad cough but still needs to study for her paper on Monday... Do hope she can get enough rest tonight... I prob can only join them for lunch at Clementi after YM tho'

Well... 27 more names to learn and match to faces (doesn't help that there are 2 Emilys) Wld prob have fun with that, tho' I think they wld have more fun trying to remember our names since none of the 9 of us have English names ^^ with mine being a little of a tongue-twister (I mean, even my TEACHERS can pronounce it wrongly, and they are Singaporeans!!!), and I like to sign off us "Juan" which wld be synonomous to "euan" a GUY's name... (yea, most of my netpals think that I am a guy, at least until they realise that I am NOT) Been telling them to call me "Ju-en" or "Jen"...... Here's to fun times ahead, and to a good rest in bed!! 皆さん、おやすみなさい!!またね!!

Oh, as a side note, I managed to get tix for the NDP preview... Now to figure out where Far East Square is, so that I can go collect them... Plus need to know WHEN the preview is.... Only know that it is at the Padang (since this year's NDP wld be at the Padang)

After some shut eye....

Hmmm.... Managed to get *some* sleep after all, but I think I am NOT meant to last multiple nights in SPS.... So much for a full fledged marathon... Guess we wld just finish up by watching segments of the the features discs (as recommended by Ifty), then I can actually get back to my bed tonight! And then I can enjoy my extended vcds at a more leisurely pace ^^ AND I get a chance to actually pack my rm as well... Tho's I prob wld be back on Friday, to *hopefully* settle some UROPS and module stuff, especially since the UNSW students coming for the science summer school programme wld be arriving on Saturday, and the 10 of us wld be meeting them on Monday during the welcome tea =^-^= PLUS, there's the semestral cleaning of SPS rm on Monday as well.... *hefty yawn* Kinda a good thing that I wld be occupied with helping the summer programme, otherwise I *might* feel a tad bit lonely since Nam is gg back to HK tmr, and wld only be back a week later.... Guess I kinda need to start on Minna no Nihongo for Japanese 4 as well, dun wanna be forever getting a B for jap.... Which reminds me, there's still that humongous ambition of mine to translated some of the Kino no Tabi stories into english too... [Not to mention the vectoring and walling I am supposed to be finishing up.... No, I haven't forgotten abt the hikaru no go wall or the inuyasha vector....]

Yes, going home tonight seems more and more appealing with each passing moment *nods head* I definitely DON'T wanna shower in science again... at least not until the upgrading(s) are all done... the shower head was pretty old, and more of getting a jet of water than anything else, but I think the freakiest part was how the noise/sounds from the upgrading that was going on a few rooms away just carried.... Half the time I wasn't sure if the noise was from there or if one of the workers actually came in to use the toilet... Pretty nerve wrecking if you just had a couple hours of sleep somewhere far from your bed, more so due to severe myopia... But that was the nearest shower ard, so.... *shudder* What i wld give for a nice warm shower at the moment....

Present wallpaper: Nice dark wall of Vincent from Final Fantasy - Advent Children that I managed to get off MT ^^ Matches the black of my IBM thinkpad wonderfully! The CGI is done so nicely, but when is squaresoft gonna put us out of agony and release the DVD?!? The release date has already been pushed back a number of times....
Click for the rambling...

Sleepless in NUS....

Well, we started our own private LOTR extended DVD full marathon (meaning we are watching EVERYTHING on the DVDs) Managed to finish all of Fellowship in ard 12 hours, supposed to be catching some winks now.... but I can't seem to fall asleep O_o Crap!! Well, so since I have *kinda* nothing better to do, here I am updating my blog ^^ Still can't believe that I am in sch for something as trivial as being a LOTR geek!! *ROFL* Really wonder if I can survive thru another 20-24 hours of LOTR.... Haha... But the behind-the-scenes peeks and the great scenery really makes it all worthwhile, and just seeing Tolkien's Middle-Earth brought to life is just so nice! *sigh* Wanna retire to Rivendell, and live in Lothlorien...

Finally got down to watching some of the TeniPuri musicals that I got from May Yi, and I think they are really amusing! Dancing, singing and tennis just doesn't go.... Really comical seeing live-action ver of all the Seigaku dudes ^^ Really like how Kaidoh turned out tho'. Pity those I got from her are raws, so I can't make out everything they were singing... Anyway, gonna make another attempt to sleep.... Minna-san, oyasuminasai!

NUS High Camp - mission accomplished!!!

The second camp is now officially done ^^ Yay!! Compared to the P6s, the Sec 2s were much less energetic.... In other words, they didn't drain my "batteries" as badly ^^ Still, having a nice bath at the end of the day feels REAL good!!

[Juan dashes off for dinner at this point....]

Okies... Back from a nice dinner that included chili black pepper fish, and now on to more rambling abt the camp... heehee.... Guess u shld be able to tell that Juan has enough energy to be bouncing ard! Kinda glad that my team *finally* showed SOME enthusiasm at the eco-race of the last station. Tho' that may be partly due to Malcolm actually giving them a time to beat..... Well, since BOTH teams competing actually managed to beat the original best time of 18 min plus, all I can say is "Well done Orange!!" As the Orange mentors were saying, it truly is the "Return of the Jedi"! Great that Orange teams managed to get the best team for 3 stations, compared to the P6 camp where only one girl from Orange got a prize for the DuPont quiz..... It was a busy (and rather draining) week, and I definitely enjoy the rest of my hols ^^ (Just need to get off me bum and go do some active scouting for a UROPS prof....)

Guess the kids weren't the only ones who made new friends. I got to know more NUS pple too! I mean, I already know the SPS ones, but there were also a number of SPS-friends that were helping out. People like Aloysius were doubly great to know. (In his case, he's a nice fella, PLUS he's also a fellow ACSian!!)

Hmmmm..... On to other things.... Yea, CoolBlueX has done the updating at Oujisama.tk, so the anime episode summaries are slowly trudging along.... Gotta start watching those live musicals soon too...At least the TenuPuri stuff are making some headway, not like my Kino no Tabi translations... Translating REALLY is tougher than it looks :(

The AMC website has been moved to Leslie's SCCC hosting space, and well, things are still kinda messy at the moment while sections are being allocated to various pple... Grace and I are kinda the articles pple. I really wonder what I can write abt.... Plus whether my writing skills are really up-to-std.... I mean, other that blog entries (or diary style ramblings) or science-related reports, papers etc., I haven't really been doing anything similar to a proper article writing.... Oh dear, what to do abt this?

Dental appointment tmr... So NOT looking fwd to it..... Never really liked visiting either the doctor's nor the dentist's *hefty sigh*

Guess I owe u guys this......

Yea.... sorry for the "downtime" and the lack of posts... been a little busy, plus internet connection at home is more than a little wonky....

Got back my results a week ago. Good news is that everything is above a C+... the bad news is that there weren't any As either *hefty sigh* Oh well, that's the last sem (I hope!) that I would be taking 6 modules. Back to a normal load of 5 ^^ Aside from Japanese 4, Microbiology and UROPS, I am still short of 2 modules to take... Probably gonna be more LSM modules I guess...

So what has Juan been busy with? No, not with FF7... If I was busy with that, you guys would definitely read more about escapades of how to catch the *stupid* chocobo etc.... Been helping out in the NUS High School camp (that's for this week) and one thing that I have DEFINITELY learnt from this is that Juan is NOT cut out to be a primary school teacher or work in a childcare centre... Batteries don't last long enough... Will be over after this week. Whoppee!! Then I have ard a week free before I need to help with the NUS summer exchange programme for the UNSW pple... Yes, that gives me ard one week to settle my UROPS project.... Guess I hafta select from the list of Bio Sciences projects...

Okie... wanna wrap this up so I can get back to fiddling ard with MSN messenger 7.0... Ciao for now....

Final Fantasy VII

Sorry for the lack of entries recently ^^ Have been having WAY too much fun watching TeniPuri and playing computer games ^^ BTW, the anime summaries on oujisama.tk shld get updated once i manage to pass them to CoolBlueX for UL... One fun game that DEFINITELY deserves a try is Paradoxion, even more so if u like puzzles *nods head* You can get the trial version HERE.

Well, on to another game that has taken me ages to get down to playing... FF7 for the PC ^^ (Yes, juan is slow, but what to do when juan doesn't have a PS2 or much time during the hols?) Really happy that DT could lend me her FF7 (and FF8) games to play!! Heehee.... It DID take me a while to figure out how to use the mousepad on my IBM lappie, plus even more time before I actually got used to what key controlled what... But after that, it's pretty fun ^^ This is SO gonna take up more of my time... there goes the thots of practising Japanese and walling... Oops..... Oh well, it IS the hols, and I kinda want some FF to play while waiting for SquareSoft to actually release the much awaited FF 7: Advent Children DVD ^^ The game would do for now (tho' the graphics aren't quite like the present FF CGs, they are pretty cute) Would probably spend the most of tmr playing FF7, at least til I get stuck at one stage or another.... Tata for now!

Passion AC!!!

Okies.. Upcoming ACJC event... Wld all ACSians reading this blog pls take note? Thanks!! ^^

What? Passion AC
Where? ACJC Auditorium
When? !st July 2005 (Fri), 7.30pm

Hope to see familiars faces there!!
=================================================

Okie... On to the proper blog entry ^^ I JUST had to put the details up here after getting informed of this! Anyway, silly me just realised that I can actually browse to the original Shonen JUMP mag in Kinokuniya, so I dun really need to depend on fansites to provide low quality photoscans of the latest chapters of stuff like Bleach and Tenipuri!! Down side is that I need to travel down to town, and black fingers due to the newspaper quality toner used in the printing process.... But oh well... Managed to get the VCD of Umizaru *bounces in joy* Now I get to watch it over and over again!! Heehee....

Back after 10 min... Just back from watching the part of the last episode of a chinese variety show, and seeing Mark Lee trying to learn Japanese is simply hilarious!! His intonation is all wrong... Normally the show wld get various celebrities to teach foreigners some chinese, but since this is the last episode, the 2 hosts are required to learn THREE languages (or at least SOME of it), namely Japanese, Thai and Malay ^^ Wanna go watch Bleach 32 now, so また ね!

===============================================

INT: BESPIN GANTRY - MOMENTS LATER:

A furious lightsaber duel is underway. DARTH VADER is backing LUKE SKYWALKER towards the end of the gantry. A quick move by Vader, chops off Luke’s hand! It goes spinning off into the ventilation shaft. Luke backs away. He looks around, but realizes there’s nowhere to go but straight down.

Darth Vader: Obi Wan never told you what happened to your father.

Luke Skywalker: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!

DV: No… I am your father!

LS: No, it’s not true! It’s impossible.

DV: Search your feelings… you know it to be true…

LS: NO!

DV: Yes, it is true… and you know what else? You know that brass droid of yours?

LS: Threepio?

DV: Yes… Threepio… I built him… when I was 7 years old…

LS: No…

DV: Seven years old? And what have you done? Look at yourself, no hand, no job, and couldn’t even levitate your own ship out of the swamp…

LS: I destroyed your precious Death Star!

DV: When you were 20! When I was 10, I single-handedly destroyed a Trade Federation Droid Control ship!

LS: Well, it’s not my fault…

DV: Oh, here we go… “Poor me… my father never gave me what I wanted for my birthday… boo hoo, my daddy’s the Dark Lord of the Sith… waahhh wahhh!”

LS: Shut up…

DV: You’re a slacker! By the time I was your age, I had exterminated the Jedi knights!

LS: I used to race my T-16 through Beggar’s Canyon.

DV: Oh, for the love of the Emperor… 10 years old, winner of the Boonta Eve Open… Only human to ever fly a Pod Racer… right here, baby!

{Luke looks down the shaft. Takes a step towards it.}

DV: I was wrong… You’re not my kid… I don’t know whose you are, but you sure ain’t mine…

{Luke takes a step off the platform, hesitates, then plunges down the shaft.}

{Darth Vader looks after him.}

DV: Get a haircut!

Building comp...

Woh~ First time I am helping out in building a comp more or less from scratch ^^ Actually it's one of my frens who is doing it... I am just tagging along, and since it is in a common area, and I am to help with troubleshooting as and when probs crop up... the poor comp is kinda "naked" at the moment with all its components spilt all over the table, plus there is NO power "ON" button!! We turn it on with the mystical power of the FORCE ^^ (FYI, we are Jedi padawans too! heehee...) It is quite fun, and I may wanna build my own desktop at home as well. But that means that I REALLY need to clear up more space on my desk.... ladidadida...

Whew....

After 7.30pm today, my exams would be over ^^ Banzai!! Well, that just leaves me with 2 ISM papers to do by sat... kinda had a breather over the weekend, and that helps ^^ (in spite of the fact that most of my frens seemed to have ended their exams by last wk) Big relieve that my paper are *finally* gonna be over, tho I prob wld have quite a few sleepless nites trying to get out 2 review papers in 4-5 days...

Holidays wld soon be here, meaning time to do walling and vectors, plus time to look for UROPS prof... (oh... plus the neverending task of packing me room!) Started watching the TeniPuri anime, and decided to make episode summaries as I go along. These would be up on Oujisama.tk once CoolBlueX has proofread them for accuracy and degree of spoiler-ness... Prob would do the same for the musicals once I get round to watching them ^^ It has been sometime since I have done any summary writing for either a book or show, do hope those are fine... Kinda makes me feel like a reporter, the way I type them out while watching the anime...

Yep... feels kinda good having an update here after so long ^^ Just need to finish these two review papers... Hang in there Juan!!
